Special Needs / Wendy Whitters is the Children's Ministry Director at Faith bible Baptist Fellowship in Sussex - If you are working with a child with special needs you will want to be in this session. What is required beyond the usual interaction with a teacher and how do you do this well.
Multiculturalism /Shima Barrett is the Children's Ministry Director at Whitepine Baptist Church in Riverview - This is an interactive sessions which will help you understand how to recognize and acknowledge the differences that children bring to club. How can you most effectively communicate through this differences and help each child understand their value.
Small Groups that Transform Lives / Mary Woodcock is the Children's Ministry Leader at Devon Park Baptist Church in Fredericton - This session addresses what a small group that transforms lives looks like. One of the first steps to transforming lives is creating community. Create communities that will transform your small groups.
Discipline / Josh Cameron is the Family Pastor at True Life Church in Quispamsis - Create an environment of consistency, energy and excitement. Leaders will help you assess how environment influences a child's behaviour, understand the biblical definition of discipline and learn how to apply discipline strategies to your children's ministry.
Encouragement / Preston Mowry is the Pastor at Hatfield Point Baptist and Bellisle Creek Baptist Church- Serving in a children's ministry can be so rewarding! But we also know that the time, emotional energy, physical demands and spiritual commitment can leave leaders feeling drained, hesitant, and dare we say - burned out. There are so many ways that we can encourage one another and keep morale high.
Developing a Missionally Focused Youth Ministry / Jeremy Head is the Associate Pastor of Worship and Youth at Devon Park Baptist Church - In this workshop we will discuss how to best communicate the gospel given the current culture out students live in and how students fit into the grand story that God is telling.
The Craft of Story-Telling / Victor Somers is the Pastor of East Side Church in Miramichi - As ideas unfold they may seem disconnected, like the initial strokes of an artist brush, but when they are developed and connected, they can create a powerful story. Stories give life to ideas.
Connecting with Your Parents / Terry Carr is the Children's Ministy Director at Devon Park Baptist Church - In this session you will hear ways to initiate leader/parent relationships. We will give ideas for engaging with parents at the beginning, the middle and the end of the ministry year and provide opportunity for breakout participants to share ideas with each other.
Building a Healthy Volunteer Team / Jeff Jenkins is the Children's Ministry Director at True Life Church in Quispamsis - After this breakout leaders will be equipped to create a plan for recruiting volunteers, inspire parents to get involved and create a growth plan for volunteers.
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures...”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NIV)
