Awana BC Camp

Join Our Staff Team

Every year, our volunteer staff team help give each camper an exciting, safe and fun camp experience. As a staff member, you’ll be working hard, making great friends and seeing how God is working in the lives of every camper.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibility is to be a mentor. You’ll be discipling youth, helping them discover who God wants them to be and where He wants to take them.

We've listed some additional roles that you may be assigned to. We will try to assign staff members to at most two roles.

Qualifications

Does this sound like you?

✓ Teachable, encouraging, flexible and a team player

✓ Faithful witness of Jesus Christ in word and action.

✓ Helpful wherever there is a need.

✓ Able to live and work in a camp environment

✓ Willing to participate fully in camp activities

✓ A successful result from screening procedures, such as: criminal record check and/or reference checks

Cabin Counsellor (12)

Cabin Counsellors are responsible for leading and discipling a group of up to seven youth throughout the week.

Cabin Counsellors may also take up one of the following roles to lead during the week:

Team Captain (4)

We split our campers into the four colour teams. Our Team Captains lead the charge in encouraging campers to compete fairly, to work as a team and to cheer everyone else on.

Bible Teacher (4)

Our Bible Teachers lead the campers through a Bible study each morning. Curriculum will be provided.

Crafts Director (1)

Our Crafts Director creates fun and engaging craft activities during camp.

Games Assistant (1)

The Games Assistant helps the games director with leading and setting up the game sessions.

Worship Team (2)

This team prepares and leads the worship throughout the week and may mentor campers who have a heart to lead worship.

Camp Leadership Team

We are looking for people who would like to partner with us in discipling youth. These roles require you to work closely with the Camp Director and Camp Coordinator.

Games Director (1)

Our Game Director designs and leads games/activities including the Flag Square time, which may incorporate team cheers, skits, special music and more.

Camp Nurse (1)

You’ll be keeping everyone healthy, handling any injuries and organising medication (and hopefully nothing else). This person must be a Registered Nurse.

Camp Photographer (1)

You’ll be running around and capturing the camp experience, working with the Camp Leadership Team to ensure that our photography policy is adhered to.
