God is changing the world through the ministry of Awana Ministry in Saskatchewan by equipping leaders to reach kids with the gospel and engaging them in long-term discipleship.
There are currently 32 churches using Traditional Awana and 3 using TruthSeekers. We are reaching over 1400 children every week in the region and that number continues to grow as churches engage and impact their communities for Christ. The ministry in Saskatchewan has grown in the last year, adding 6 new churches.
Len and Shelley Hyatt - Ministry Development - Prairies
Len and Shelley are enthused to encourage and equip churches to reach boys, girls and families with the gospel, to train and equip them to change our world for Jesus Christ through Awana.
Len accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at age six at Moose Lake Bible Camp. He has been serving in children’s ministry at a local church setting since 1980.
Shelley was born in Kindersley, SK and grew up on a farm. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 7. Her first introduction to Awana was when she was in grade 10.
Len and Shelley met at Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sk. They were married in 1982.They have served in Awana since 1993 and at Awana Prairie Camp since 2000. They have 2 grown children who both went through the Awana ministry to earning their citation awards.
They have gone on 5 overseas missions trips. They came home from the last trip realizing that God was leading them to do missions at home. They are excited about serving God through Awana.
